It breathed — slow and warm, like lungs I couldn’t see. And the walls? They pulsed faintly with color. With memory. With a rhythm that stirred under my sternum — not painful, but precise. Like someone knocking on the inside of my ribs with light.
I didn't feel fear. I felt recognition.

Her voice came not as sound, but a pressure in my ribs.
I nodded. I didn’t. But I did.
